Baltimore Bays Recreational Development Program

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Baltimore Bays Soccer Club Recreational Development Program provides a fun and safe environment for children ages 6-8 to enjoy and learn the game of soccer. Research has shown that involvement in sport at a young age can help in developing basic motor and cognitive skills. The program uses fun based soccer training activities that focus on developing a range of fundamental skills. Specific focus is given to:
·Agility, balance and coordination
·Movement patterns and sequences
·Spatial awareness
·Social skills
·Listening skills
·Soccer specific technique
The program introduces the game to our youngest players and focuses on developing individual skills and introducing the fundamental themes of the game. Sessions are held twice a week and will consist of group instruction and small-sided games. Licensed professional soccer coaches from within the Bays coaching staff will conduct the sessions. The session themes include dribbling, turning, passing, receiving, running with the ball, one-two’s, overlaps, shooting, defending and much, much more. The main focus of the program is having fun. The emphasis is on participation, learning, and acquiring life skills.
